Vlad Oprea was born in Brasov on 27th August 1968, now lives and works in Sinaia.
He is the mayor of Sinaia since 2004, on the fourth consecutive term.
Engineer, in 1994 he graduated the University of Civil Engineering Bucharest with a degree in civil and industrial construction and continued training by enrolling in master classes at the University of Bucharest Hyperion which he completed in 2007, with title master in Geopolitics and International Relations.
The professional training, but also the desire to participate directly in the development of the city in which he lives, led him to engage in intense political activity. Thus, since 2009, he became a member of one of the main political parties in Romania, the National Liberal Party, with an important role in modernizing the country. From 2001 until now he has been the President of the Liberal National Party branch Sinaia.
The activities and his persistent efforts have propelled him to a nice political career and in 2004 he became mayor of Sinaia, since then. Along with his team he managed to put in practice a significant number of projects aimed at developing a realistic strategy of the city in all areas of social life.
He participated in numerous courses, seminars and conferences worldwide.
He has many political roles of leadership in organizations: Vice President of National Liberal Party organization Prahova County, local elected President of the League of the National Liberal Party, Prahova county organization.
He speaks English and French and has knowledge in German.
He is very passionate about sports as: alpine skiing, speed rally coast contests and VTM, hiking and a great admirer and collector of art objects.
